The Press

A step back in time to when we connected over a fine glass of liqour opposed to screens and filters. The Press is Tamworth's finest Whiskey and Cocktail bar located in the the basement of the Leader Building, originally home to Tamworth's Newspaper the daily leader.

Originally a prohibition era, 1920s themed bar, The Press started out strong quickly gaining a loyal following obsessed with their keen eye for detail and wonderous mixes. Over the years The Press began to outgrow the niche that got them started and due to the Covid Pandemic, needed to reinvent themselves in order to survive. The team at The Press decided to work with Pallett Design to help them find their new direction and stay connected with the local community in the new normal.

Staying up to date
It was important that the identity established a sense of history without feeling dated alongside separating The Press from other local bars. All without relying heavily on or disrespecting the prohibition era theme they had become known for. We combined a logo and typography inspired by the newspapers that The Press’ location was originally home to, alongside colour and visual elements influenced by the mood and décor of the bar itself to create the brand identity.
easy to find online
Even a secretive underground bar in Tamworth still needs to be discoverable. One of the largest sources of customers for the hospitality industry comes from google. We rebuilt The Press' website to help them rank higher on google and provide a fast way for visitors to find the information they needed. The website was a major sucsess pushing The Press onto the front page of google for the most relevent search terms within a month of the website's launch.
